About Me
My name is Dan Baillie and I am a photographer based near Newton Stewart, Wigtownshire in Dumfries and Galloway. My photographs have been published in books, magazines and newspapers and in 2010 I was awarded a distinction from the Royal Photographic Society. I am also a member of the Society of Wedding & Portrait Photographers.
Originally from Southend on Sea in Essex, I relocated to Scotland in 2002 and started my photography business in 2006. I am married and have two children, three dogs and two horses and we enjoy family time out in the open air in the glorious Scottish weather.
I have been taking photographs since I was 14 years old when I was given a Praktica MTL5B SLR camera for my birthday. This gave me a love for photography and the captured image and is a passion that has lasted throughout my life. I use Nikon Digital SLR cameras and love the immediacy and creativity of the digital age.
I love wedding photography and portraiture, however I am able to undertake a wide range of different types of photographic work including event photography, advertising and portfolio work.
